Metrics Reference
This page describes all the metrics you see on the dashboard and in statistics. Use it as a reference when you want to understand what a specific indicator means.
Core Metrics
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Hits | Total number of visits (all recorded sessions) |
| Good | Visits recognized as clean traffic from real users |
| Tech Losses | Visits for which data could not be collected (user left before the tag loaded or a technical error occurred) |
| Unique Users | Number of unique visitors (determined by fingerprint) |
GIVT Metrics
GIVT (General Invalid Traffic) — invalid traffic with obvious signs of fraud. Learn more about what GIVT is in the What is Adsafee section.
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| GIVT Total | All visits classified as GIVT |
| GIVT Crawlers | Search bots, scrapers, automated programs with known signatures |
| GIVT Spoofing | Visits with a fake User-Agent — the declared browser does not match the actual one |
| GIVT Automated | Scripts, headless browsers, Selenium, and other automation tools |
| GIVT Bad Reputation IPs | Visits from IP addresses in known fraud databases and botnets |
SIVT Metrics
SIVT (Sophisticated Invalid Traffic) — sophisticated fraud masquerading as real users. Learn more: What is SIVT.
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| SIVT Total | All visits classified as SIVT |
| SIVT Proxy | Visits through proxy servers and VPNs |
| SIVT Spoofing | Advanced fingerprint spoofing — attempts to hide real browser characteristics |
| SIVT Automated | Sophisticated automation that bypasses standard bot checks |
| SIVT TZ Mismatch | Browser timezone does not match the timezone based on IP geolocation |
| SIVT IP Mismatch | Other discrepancies indicating location spoofing |
Feature Metrics
Characteristics of the environment in which the visit occurred. These do not indicate fraud on their own, but combined with other signals they may point to suspicious traffic.
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Adblock | The visitor has an ad blocker enabled |
| Webview | Visit from an in-app embedded browser (not a full browser) |
| Iframe | The page was loaded inside an iframe |
Behavioral Metrics
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active Page | The user interacted with the page (moved the mouse, scrolled, clicked) |
| Bounces | The user left the page without any interaction |
Challenge Metrics
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Challenge Total | Number of times a challenge was shown to visitors |
| Challenge Pass | Number of times a challenge was successfully completed |
Interpretation
A low pass rate (Challenge Pass / Challenge Total) confirms that the traffic is fraudulent. Learn more: Set up a challenge.
Percentage Variants (Rate)
Each metric has a percentage variant — the share of total visits. For example:
- Good Rate = Good / Hits — share of clean traffic
- GIVT Rate = GIVT Total / Hits — share of invalid traffic
- Bounce Rate = Bounces / Hits — share of bounces
Why Rate metrics matter
Rate metrics are more useful for comparing sources with different traffic volumes. A source with 1,000 GIVT out of 2,000 visits (50%) is more concerning than a source with 5,000 GIVT out of 100,000 visits (5%).
